As of 1:30 p.m. local time, at least 13 people were killed and another six were injured after a 19-seat bus overturned and fell into a river in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Monday morning, the Beijing News reported, citing local authorities.
The accident took place at around 8:30 a.m. local time when the bus was traveling from Guiyang city's Kaiyang county to Weng'an county in the Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
The bus veered off a road bridge on provincial highway S305 and fell into the river, according to a statement of the county government.
A search and rescue operation is underway. The cause of the incident is currently being investigated.
